The “Carriage Way” is a Victorian Bed and Breakfast inn, which is located in the heart of historic St. Augustine, Florida. It is a great place to stay for a romantic vacation and it is located close to charming shops, museums, great restaurants, historic sites and beautiful beaches. The bed and breakfast constructed between 1883 and 1885 by Edward and Rosalie Masters. The rooms are named for former owners and individuals who were significant to the history of the home. For many years, the home was very prominent in the city of St Augustine. Then, in the 1940s, the house was converted into apartments. In 1984, the structure was lovingly and restored to its original grandeur, fulfilling a dream of creating Carriage Way. The bed and breakfast has 11 kind of rooms and we stayed the room called “St. John Brown Room” which is located on the first floor. We had a handsome queen size, Victorian style; wrought iron bed is white, with a complimenting twin size day bed. There is a nice chair for reading, a dresser and a closet. The private bathroom for this room is a hall bath that is three or four steps from the room and the bathroom is big and has a shower. Moreover, many of the rooms have family heirlooms from different States such as Oklahoma, New Orleans and Illinois. All rooms have telephones and wireless high-speed internet access and rates range from $99.00 to $439.00 per night that includes breakfast and complimentary beverages. Beach style bicycles are available also for use and early morning coffee and newspapers are furnished and in the afternoon and there is a special dessert treat that is great! We did buy 2 mugs from them also as remembrance and we do have them and I kept them as we had great experienced staying in their place. The Carriage Way Inn voted as best bed and breakfast! I recommend this Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast in St. Augustine.
